Hot and Cold Stacking of Anchored Rigs and Marine Structures

The sheltered cat ‘C’ waters within the Cromarty Firth provide the ideal location for safely storing offshore energy structures, with allocated proven anchorage areas and good holding grounds.

Hot and cold stacking capacity is available for rigs in water depths up to 40 metres.

Deep water locations provide for inclination testing and jack up leg inspections. Good access for staff and equipment transfers.

Standby tugs are available in the event of an emergency. The Port of Cromarty Firth has an excellent reputation and a long standing track record in safely loading rigs onto and/or offloading rigs from large specialist carrier vessels.

The UK’s premier port facility for IRM works offers dedicated berths and mooring facilities, adjoining hard standing and heavy lift crane pads. With over 700 rig visits, this is the port of choice in the UK for rig refurbishments and survey works.

The Port of Cromarty Firth can provide a broad range of services during the mobilisation and demobilisation of subsea vessels.

The Cromarty Firth has no weather restrictions, access and working is available 24 hours per day 365 days per year.
