Like most businesses, the Port has to make a financial surplus to survive – however every penny made is reinvested in the Port for the benefit of its stakeholders.
The Port reinvested £2.1 million in 2017. Major reinvestments included:
- £825,000 on the new Phase 4 development
- £393,000 on upgraded bollards
- £309,000 on water upgrade and fuel tanks maintenance
- £148,000 on surveying / dredging costs to maintain safe navigation
- £138,000 on Phase 3
